fembot's fancy thats

saw my week with mariyln and i was totally disappointed.

while michelle williams was absolutely beautiful in the film, her portrayal was wasted in my opinion by a predictable plot. nothing raw, nothing that attempted to get to the real story of one of the most iconic american women to have ever lived. it all seemed too easy. oh look at the insecure, drunk, pill-head marilyn. look how much trouble she causes on a set. look how much of a child she is. look how beautiful she is. 

i was so sorry. i really was hoping for director, simon curtis, to do something new here - expose her intelligent side, her critical side, the rest of the dimensions that make a human’s life a real one.

perhaps the next feature flick (with naomi watts) will do a better job of slipping beneath the surface instead of skating on the superficial.
